Savannah - Trip 3

Well, I'm a little late posting this, but we went to Savannah a couple weeks ago and had a smashing good time. Our parents traveled down with us and enjoyed themselves as well. We packed in as much as we could in a long weekend. Meeting up with our old friend Dave at the Warehouse proved to be a bit too much fun perhaps (if that's possible). Also, we acquired a few new buddies. First, Jason, from Charleston, SC, a nice guy who knows how to have a great time, and second, Carita, a Savannah resident who is a good friend of Dave's and a pleasure to chat with. As far as the parents go, it's safe to say Stevo's favorite part was watching the barge traffic on the Savannah River while Sandi really appreciated the haunted lore and mystery of the city. Kim and Randy enjoyed touring the old Mercer-Williams House and breakfast at Huey's (within 2 visits to Savannah they have had breakfast a total of 3 times there already). All in all it was a fantastic trip - the next one will be the real deal - can't wait for all of our great friends and family to join us in our favorite southern city!

Never a good idea!

I just love these head mugs in the Six Pence Pub - a must stop in Savannah.

Our Savannah buddy Dave - the best barkeep in the south (make sure you ask for wine).

Instant friends - Stick and Jason

Alum Creek with the Adams'

Well hello there. I am going to tell you about a great little camping trip we took to Alum Creek State Park with the Ollie and Amber Adams family. It is a beautiful campground outside of Delaware, Ohio. The Adams' family has a new camper and its a real nice unit and we were thrilled to be invited. We took a short little hike around the campground and witnessed Austin (Brandy's nephew) knock down a tree. That's right, I said "a tree". I think it was an oak, one of those real big, old oaks. The ones that are as big around as a mini cooper. He was so proud of himself. Miss Stephanie learned how to start fires. That's right, a kid playing with fire. I told her she might wet the bed, but she was dry the next morning. I guess she is becoming an adult. They were very accomodating and we hope to be able to go with them again. Check out the pics.

kenton nationals coon dog trials....

The Thursday before Labor Day weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Coon Dog Trials in Kenton, OH with Sticky. Wow - that was quite an experience. Stick had warned me that it was going to be very redneck but I really had no idea! Let's just say that the cleanest most pristine thing there was the shower trailer mostly due to the fact that they were not used at all! I did not take very many pics b/c of all of the gun rack loaded golf carts zipping around. I was more concerned about my safety than getting the right shot. I honestly do not think that I will become an annual visitor of this event but I am glad that I can say that I experienced it.
