wdwcp.ten years
10 years ago (Jan 7, 1997 to be exact) I flew into the the state of Florida for an exciting journey that not only changed my life but bonded me with some of my favorite people on this planet. I was an excepted cast member for the Walt Disney World College Program Spring '97. There were way too many wonderful experiences from the 5 months that I was there to post about!! I am however going to dedicate this post to a few girls who I love so dearly and could not imagine life without. Upon arriving Orlando we were grouped together to live in apartments - college students from all over the country were members and we had absolutely no control over who we were going to be living with. The very first roommate I met was Robyn - a sweet southern girl with the warmest smile I had ever seen. She had a shirt on with apples appliqued on it and of course I will never forget that (I have this strange memory where I will remember events by what people were wearing). Next came a valley girl from Virginia, a homesick girl from Mass and a sorority belle from Oklahoma - all very different and very nice. And last but not least a tiny girl from the state of Mass came in with her energetic friend - it was like a tornado entered the room with an East Coast accent. Their names were Shan and Paula. You cannot help but instantly love Shan. She is the cutest brunette I have ever seen and her personality is beyond charming. Paula was the beautiful tomboy who had this wild side to her that I just loved. I met many people and had loads of fun but I could not imagine enjoying any of it as much as I did without these girls. We had to part ways on my birthday that May - many many hugs and tears were involved. We have been on such different journeys since but we somehow miraculously stayed in touch and have even gotten together on a few occasions. Sticky and I are lucky enough to have Shan and Robyn coming to the wedding (Paula unfortunately could not) and I could not be more excited to see them!! Thank you for the wonderful friendships ladies!! I truly cannot believe that it has been 10 years!!

Despite the shocking loss to the Gators this past Monday we still have a BLAST in Arizona over our extended weekend. We arrived on Saturday and enjoyed the evening out with my friends Renee and Daniel along with their men - Matt and Thom. We had dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery and then played a little pool at Jillians - Matt and Sticky bonded since they are both HUGE sports fans! Early the next morning we ventured out on a morning hike around the Arizona landscape. We conquered a trail that led us up to an amazing view of the Phoenix Skyline. In Ohio I am used to running on flat ground so to hike up a small mountain was a big shocker on the muscles - so yes, I was a little sore the following day. The rest of the day was spent preparing for the big game. We had the pleasure of going to Chase Field (home of the Arizona Diamondbacks Baseball Team) for a little Pep Really which included Jim Tressel, Troy Smith, THE Ohio State Marching Band, Archie Griffin, Craig Krenzel (2002 Champions Quarterback) and many other note worthy Buckeyes. 35,000 Buckeye fans showed up which is more than they sometimes get for an actual Diamondback game. It was such a great time but unfortunately Sticky will not let us cross Chase Field of the baseball studium list b/c you have to actually be at a baseball game in order to cross it off - bummer!! After the rally we headed to Scotsdale for some dinner - definitely a part of Phoenix you should check out if your ever in town. And then of course Monday was spent tailgating and preparing for the BCS Championship Game. We had tickets to College Football's Largest Tailgate Party which was a blast - we tried our best to make it on College GameDay but I have not heard word on that yet. The stadium is really kind of ugly on the outside but the inside is gorgeous (my only complaint is that they need more restrooms). The Buckeyes Fans really showed up but I think everyone knew that they would and I will also have to give credit to those Gator fans - they did not outnumber the Buckeyes by any means but they certainly represented their team more then some previous opponents we have faced. The game of course was very disappointing for us Buckeyes - we just looked flat and after that first kickoff we just could not get anything going! I have not seen them play like that in a really long time but like they say - "you can't win them all." It was truly a great season though and as all of you Buckeye fans out there know it is ALWAYS a great season when you BEAT MICHIGAN (non Buckeye fans will laugh and say whatever but they just don't understand)!! Congrats to the Gators - you beat the crap out of us and you did it with grace - teams like USC and Miami should take note of your good sportsmanship. And as for the fans I have to tip my hat to the Gators - of course we received some taunting but only one person was really out of line. And you Buckeyes out there should be very proud - I know that we can get out of hand but we took the lose as best we could and still represented our O-H-I-O. That is why it is so great to be a BUCKEYE FAN!! Can't wait till the Spring Game!!

So many things we have to update you guys on but the biggest one of all is the birth of Miss Josephine Mae Rammel (Sticky did not clarify spelling so I hope I got that right Chuck and Mel)!!! No pictures yet but I will post them as soon as we receive them!! We also have some pics from Arizona to share - of course we had a great time even though the game was not even close to what we were hoping it would be!!
Stay tuned!!!

happy new year.kelleys island
Sticky and I had a laid back New Year's on Kelley's Island. We started off the Holiday on Saturday which happened to be my Mom's 50th B-day!! She scored a Scooter for cruising around Kelley's Island on and a new Mac (SO JEALOUS!). Please do not think that I am an awful daughter b/c of the lack of Birthday Girl pics but seriously I would not be alive to blog ever again if I posted pics of her - she is like me and prefers to be behind the camera! :-) The rest of the weekend was very relaxing. It was great - Stick fished, I read, Stick fished, I read (boy, we are getting old!). We needed the break though b/c we have both been extremely busy as I am sure the rest of you were!! I really do love the excitement of this day - a new beginning for everyone and a chance to reflect on everything that happened the year before. We started off last year just about to be engaged (none to my knowledge of course - so tricky Sticky keeping it under wraps over the Holidays!) and now here we are with less than 2 months to go!! This truly has been an exceptionally good year!! I am way too tired too gush and reflect currently (and I already did a little of this on the other blog) but I do want to thank everyone for making 2006 SO GREAT!!
A few from Kelley's:
I like the texture and color on this old chair:
The view from the living room window is great even in January!
We stopped by this old winery for literally 2 seconds on the way out - I promise I will go back and take more on the next trip!
And before I forget I have to let everyone know that HELL HAS FROZEN OVER because Sticky's Buddy Hoser has finally popped the question to his lovely lady Katie!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THESE TWO!!! They have been dating so long that a few of Hoser's other buddies, including Sticky, have met, dated, engaged and married their women all in the time frame that Hoser and Katie have just been dating! I truly cannot wait for this wedding!! Please Katie give me a call or email if you need anything at all!! :-) And I cannot tell you guys how much it means to us to find out that you are all making the trip to Savannah - Sticky truly has some GREAT FRIENDS and I really could not imagine that day without any of you!!
